Hello? Is this thing on?

*Dusts off cobwebs*

It’s been roughly five months since I last published anything on Medium. This past year has been one big emotional roller coaster ride (culminating with me finally catching Covid after managing to avoid it for almost three years!). I haven’t really felt inspired to write much lately. But seeing as it’s a new year and all, I’ve decided to try to get back into the habit of writing more often.

So what’s new with me?

On the surface, it may not seem like much has changed, but if you dig a little deeper, you will see that I have a much better handle on my anxiety issues. I also feel much more comfortable in my own skin, and I finally feel like I’m coming to accept myself for the person I am as opposed to who I think everyone else wants me to be. It’s been a long journey (and it’s not over yet), but I am actually feeling good at the moment.

I never thought I would be able to say this, but for the first time in my life, I feel at peace with who I am. I’ve finally learned to stop caring so much about what other people think of me. It’s incredibly freeing.
